A Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary
The Aspen Golf Club is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and has been since 1999!
At that time we were one of only two hundred in the world and the fifth in Colorado to achieve this recognition. Today, the Aspen Golf Club is one of 858 courses in the world to be designated as a certified ACSP for Golf Courses. This program is designed to recognize Golf courses that maintain and demonstrate a high degree of environmental quality. To achieve certification a Golf Course must certify in six categories: Environmental Planning, Wildlife and Habitat Management, Outreach and Education, Integrated Pest Management, and Water Quality and Water Conservation.
In 2019, the Audubon International recognized the Aspen Golf Club for 20 years of environmental excellence as an Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary this year with a plaque and letter of commendation.
The City of Aspen and the Aspen Golf Club are very proud of this certification and are pleased to be leaders in the community by being environmental stewards.
